Supervision in a professional setting is a structured and formal collaborative arrangement whereby a supervisee reflects regularly on his or her professional practice with someone who is an experienced practitioner. The aim of this policy is to promote the efficacy of the practitioner-client relationship and the therapeutic work of professional practice. Through effective supervision we seek to promote consistency between the work of the agency and the standards of practice determined by internal policies, procedures, statutory requirements and the National Minimum Standards recognized by the Commission for Social Care Inspection as stipulated in the Foster Care regulations 2002 and other professional bodies.
