A white British Women married to a White Irish Male. She has a reserved personality and likes to chew things over in her mind. She has an excellent record of bringing up her two daughters almost single-handed. Male carer, on the other hand, is a very bubbly chatty man who enjoys life and is a very social creature. The couple live in a well built up area of Coventry. The street they live on is quiet. The house is situated on the corner bend of the road so care needs to be taken when going out of the home for a small child. There are no fences blocking off the garden from the road. The street is only a short walking distance to the bus stop for the town centre, which is approximately 3 miles away. Both Fiona and Leo drive, so this is less of an issue for them.
Both Male and female carer have successfully reared their own children to adult status. The children in both sets of families present as happy contented all rounded individuals. They have made a good start in their own lives, and good relationships with others in their lives. Female carer's girls have been successful in business, parenting and buying their own homes. Male Carer’s two sons have been successful in work and managing their personal relationships with partners. The female carer has also been a successful child minder in London, when her girls were small.

Asian Muslim Couple. The couple has been married for 13 years though they have known each other for around 22 years. They have two children a girls aged 10 years and a boy 9 years. The family home is a four bed roomed bungalow, all the bed rooms are of a good size, should they have more than one sibling the bedroom identified for fostering would be adequate for two children and although the matching has precluded severe disability there would be access for wheel chairs etc.
The Couple has given fostering a great deal of thought. They have prepared their children by involving them in the assessment process as a result of which their children are at a level where they understand the concept of fostering. They do npt want any more of thier own children but feel they have got a lot to offer by way of fostering. They are committed to play thier parts in making fostering a success. The couple comes across as a very good team where they both complement each other.

AFC-NN-0001
A white British female simgle carer. The area this carer resides in is a predominantly white area of Corby, Northamptonshire. The family home is a four-bed detached house in a good locale. There is a bathroom/shower room on the ground floor and ramped wheelchair access in and out of the property, including good access to an enclosed rear landscaped garden. There is a stair-lift to the first floor, where there are three bedrooms. One room would safely and adequately accommodate bunk beds, whilst the other would equally accommodate a single bed.
She is a very experience carer who brings to the role of fostering her own unique experiences, which provides her with an excellent insight into the needs of some children placed in her care. Female carer from a history of abuse, its disclosure and recovery, and her experience of living with her late husband, who had been through a past of increasing desability and the impact that may have on a young person, especially where that disability occurs in early childhood or adolescence. The journey of acceptance and moving forward for this couple has been remarkable in the extreme. Taking an impossible situation and turning it around, seeing the positives within, makes this couple very special. The couple has great insight into the difficulties faced by some children and the rationale that results in them sometimes needing to be cared for by people other than their parents or family members.
