The AFS has a Safe Caring Policy, which aims to ensure that
carers give the best quality of care to the foster children.
The policy requires carers to avoid doing anything, which could
be perceived by a child as unsafe i.e. rough play, or tickling
games etc. It will, therefore, act as a safety mechanism for
both carer and the child alike. There are general expectations,
which apply to all placements and there will be specific elements
of safe caring, which will relate to the child's previous experiences
and their specific needs. We therefore strongly advise our foster
carers that they read, and act on, the agency's Safe Caring
policy and procedure.
