A 50 years old single carer of African/Caribbean background. Her ethnic origin is from Jamaica. She lives with her 20 years old daughter and under two years old Grand-daughter. She and her daughter are jointly approved as foster carers.
They live in an area of the West Midlands which is predominately populated by African and Caribbean communities. They live in a three-storey town house in the middle of a small street. The proposed bedroom for the foster child is the room at the top of the house. It is a double bedroom and there is enough space for two to share. They are flexible to swap the room with the daugthter's room if required.

The Carer has a long history of looking after children. She has cared for her own children to adulthood and looked after her sister’s and cousin’s children, both in Jamaica and in Britain. She has experience of looking after children in both favourable seasons as well as adverse times. She has experience of helping children and working to support them in conjunction with their mother’s wishes and feelings.
She has a good understanding of childhood needs. She has a keen sense of direction when it comes to enabling a child to mature to adulthood. She has a very warm heart and a strong commitment to children. She is keen to work as a foster carer and to work well. She does not give up easily and will not be the type of carer who will want to hand back a child when times get tough.
